Universities, as we know them, are on the brink of obsolescence. They have drifted into a realm where learning has been reduced to mere research, and teaching has devolved into mere instruction. The New Art School emerges out of necessity — a response to the scientification of Art and Design within the university system’s outdated approach.
Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of artists and designers through a curriculum rooted in the synergy of observation and the coordination of hand, heart, and eye. We reject the mechanistic approach of the so-called “mac monkey.” Here, the use of hands is not just encouraged; it is fundamental. This tactile engagement with the world is what defines us as creators.
We are dismantling the traditional grading system and the concept of failure. In their place, we foster an environment where learning is self-directed, and students bear full responsibility for their educational journey. The wealth of information now accessible online frees us to focus on learning through action, embracing the process over the outcome.
